Georg Russel wins in Montreal - Kimi Antonelli celebrates first podium

16/06/25
George Russell pulled off a surprise victory at the Canadian Grand Prix. After securing pole position on Saturday, the Mercedes driver controlled the race on Sunday to take a confident win ahead of Max Verstappen. Finishing third was 18-year-old Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who celebrated his first-ever podium in Formula 1. McLaren provided late-race drama: With just three laps to go, Lando Norris crashed into teammate Oscar Piastri, who had been on course for a podium finish. Norris retired from the race, Piastri ended up fourth, and the incident brought out the Safety Car. Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton (who ran over a groundhog), Fernando Alonso, Nico Hülkenberg, Pierre Gasly, and Carlos Sainz completed the top ten. The next race takes place in two weeks at Spielberg, Austria.
