Verstappen wins turbulent Bahrain GP in Malaysia

04/10/26
Max Verstappen won the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, claiming his first victory of the season. Heavy rain delayed the start by more than 90 minutes and created extremely difficult conditions with plenty of strategic decisions throughout the race. Verstappen kept his cool and took victory ahead of Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli. Lewis Hamilton produced an impressive comeback after dropping as low as 18th place and finished third for Ferrari. Charles Leclerc came home fourth ahead of Isack Hadjar and Oscar Piastri. Top 10: 1. Max Verstappen – Red Bull 2. Kimi Antonelli – Mercedes 3. Lewis Hamilton – Ferrari 4. Charles Leclerc – Ferrari 5. Isack Hadjar – Red Bull 6. Oscar Piastri – McLaren 7. Liam Lawson – Racing Bulls 8. Fernando Alonso – Aston Martin 9. Lando Norris – McLaren 10. Arvid Lindblad – Racing Bulls Kimi Antonelli continues to lead the Drivers’ Championship ahead of George Russell, with Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris all still fighting for important points behind them.
